I am often asked what my style is. The answer? It’s really a mixture of the following:
- Unposed, candid photography, which captures the true emotions and feelings of your wedding day. Moving, amusing and exactly as it happens.
- Creative, stylish signature images – these are artistic images that stand out as art, perfect for framing and displaying in your home. They take very little time on your wedding day, maybe 10 minutes two or three times during the course of the day to make use of the changing light.
- I am also very happy to capture the traditional group shots – to me these are so important as weddings are one of the few times families get together to celebrate. We can do as many or as few of these as you wish!
I adore colour – you can probably tell from my website! You will receive the vast majority of images in both colour and black and white so you don’t have to choose. I don’t use any digital techniques that will date your wedding photographs over the years. On your wedding day I will begin photographing with the Bride as she nears the end of her preparations capturing details, fun shots with the Bridesmaids, last minute nerves and excitement! Next it is on to the ceremony venue to capture the guests arriving and the Groom waiting expectantly for the arrival of the Bridal party.
During the ceremony I will shoot discreetly from the front or back depending on the requests of the celebrant. We will then go on to your reception, give you some time to mingle with your guests before we take the important group shots. Perhaps we will then sneak away for some photographs of you both together – a chance for you to take a breath and spend some time with one another for the first time. I will capture lots of candid photographs of your guests enjoying the reception before you sit down to eat.
I love the speeches, these are a great time to capture the real emotions, tears and laughter of everyone. Your wedding coverage will continue until your first dance together, whether you opt for a traditional slow dance or perhaps something upbeat and crazy? I’ll always stay for the first few songs and capture everyone having a great time on the dance floor before I leave you to enjoy your evening.
Don’t like having your photo taken? That is not a problem – you are invited to have a complimentary pre-wedding photo shoot so that you can get used to being photographed before your wedding day. These shoots take place in the Cheltenham area. The shoot lasts around 45 minutes and is a good chance for us to go over the plans for your wedding day.
If you are having a very large wedding or you just want even more photos you can book a second photographer for all or part of the day. I only use other professional wedding photographers so you can be assured of all great images.
If you are looking for a friendly, fun and professional photographer to capture your wedding day for you, please do get in touch. I can’t wait to hear from you!
So you are thinking about booking me to photograph your wedding – that is brilliant! I can’t wait to meet you and to hear all about your plans for your wedding day. Perhaps you might like to know who I am and what makes me tick? I began photographing weddings and portraits in 2004 and I have been doing so ever since.
Every wedding is so different, I adore seeing the dress for the first time, I’ll sing the hymns, mix with your guests and have a laugh with them, I’ll shed a tear at the speeches, boogie with Grandad and at the same time capture your day through the eyes of a professional photographer who understands what it takes to produce amazing images.
What an I not? I am not a shouty, bossy photographer who will take over your day or make you pose for hours on end. I might not be the coolest, trendiest person on the planet but I’d like to think I am good at helping people to relax and enjoy the experience.
